MCP

uniget ships with an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes its commands to AI assistants and code editors. This allows assistants to query and manage tools on your system, e.g. to search, install, inspect or uninstall tools on your behalf.

Starting the server

The server speaks stdio by default and can be added to the MCP configuration of an assistant with:

$ uniget mcp start

Alternatively, the server can serve over HTTP:

$ uniget mcp stream

The tools exposed by the server can be exported for inspection:

$ uniget mcp tools
Successfully exported 42 tools to mcp-tools.json

Configuring assistants

Server management for popular assistants and code editors is built-in:

$ uniget mcp claude enable
$ uniget mcp claude list
$ uniget mcp claude disable

The same subcommands — enable, disable and list — are available for uniget mcp claude, uniget mcp cursor and uniget mcp vscode.
